ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. - Dr. David Mayo, right, a mechanical engineer with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division; Dr. Tom Jenkins, center, president of MetroLaser, Inc.; and Regis Morgan, senior engineer with MetroLaser, monitor data during a test of the company's setup to non-invasively measure the unsteady, 3D velocity field of a jet plume from a stationary aircraft engine, Nov. 18, 2021, at the Propulsion Research Facility operated by Arnold Engineering Development Complex on the campus of the University of Tennessee Space Institute in Tullahoma, Tenn. The technology was being tested on a General Electric J85. The technology was developed through the Small Business Innovation Research program for the Navy.
