How Small American Businesses are Driving Defense Innovations

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. — Often the unsung heroes of the defense industry, American small businesses constitute 99.9% of all U.S. businesses and 73% of companies in the defense industrial base. Considering that over 25% of all Department of Defense prime contracts were awarded to small businesses, this number is especially noteworthy.

AFWERX will release a series of new initiatives in support of its 3.0 evolution during a live broadcast Dec. 14, 2022, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. EDT. Under this new approach, AFWERX 3.0 will add five key lines of effort aimed at expanding technology, talent, transition and capabilities while reducing economic barriers. (U.S. Air Force graphic).

Air, Space Forces transition to AFWERX 3.0
